Yes, I am contesting what they charged me - in 2021 they took three times what they charged in 2018. I haven't been able to get them to look at this - they simply swerve the question. Meldrewreborn: I was quite seriously ill for most of this time period, and didn't check my bank statements as I should have done, but I did phone them a few times asking them to confirm that I was on the best possible tariff, which they did.
Prices were different (not hugely ) in 2021 compared to 2018. It isn't about bank statements, its about energy bill/statements. The questions to be answered are: were you charged properly for your actual energy consumption in the relevant time periods and were the prices charged correct as well. So essentially were the readings and prices accurate. There are many other factors which can obscure and confuse, but eventually it comes back to consumption and prices.
The other thing is are you talking about fixed monthly Direct Debit amounts being charged to your bank account or are you talking about actual billing.
I doubt that many of us were happy about rising energy prices. You are clearly not happy about your charging - but to resolve matters like this needs
facts. And we here on the forum can't actually change anything relating to your account. You need to discuss this matter with an energy specialist , but you need to get your
facts and figures sorted first. Just being unhappy with what you were paying counts for very little.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been seriously ill, but I'm afraid that isn't particularly relevant to the matter.
