Prices for credit customers on variable tariffs increase on 1st January. Make sure an accurate reading is registered for you meters on the day.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
The estimated meter "read" for my plain old electricity meter showed less usage and bill than November. What are they up to at The Evil Billing Supercomputer in Coventry?
Well, anything underestimated for December will get paid eventually at the higher price after the Jan 1st price rise. For those who don't have a smart meter, your best defense against being defrauded of a few pennies next month (and it could be more) is to look at your meter and send in the reading about now (as near as possible to the Jan 1st price change) to ensure that you don't underpay at this months (quite high) price and have to pay at next months (extra high) price instead. Perhaps calling it "Evil Billing" is unjustified because with my solar panels on the roof, my December generation is the lowest of the year at the same time as the highest use of the year, so my December bill should go up from November more than would a typical household.
My electricity usage dropped by 20% in December compared to November and I haven't needed the heating on so my oil has hardly been touched.
There really is no excuse for estimated reads. it takes seconds to submit an actual one.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@meldrewreborn i submitted a reading for gas and electric taken by myself from the actual meters on 31/12/2023, and realised today that i'd put a wrong digit on my gas reading. i'd put 3428 when it should have been 3928. i've just submitted the readings taken again today, so am i in time to get the lower price before it goes up? Sorry for the stupid questions! Thankyou for your time, Lori.

How did you resubmit your correct reading? If you did it via either online account or app I would personally contact Customer Services and explain what you have done. Ways to contact Customer Services can be found via this link: https://eonnext.com/contact
