How is it going for everyone? What do you all turn off when you are taking part? I'm just wondering how I can boost my results for next time 😊
For me it’s a balance of potential saving against potential inconvenience. Anything that produces noticeable heat (except CH) gets switched off and then anything I can think of (including refrigeration, which of course produces heat too) that is easy to do and doesn’t put anyone out (too much) also gets killed 😁
For the event I used circa 0.183kWh v my baseline of 1.05kWh so a reduction clearly in excess of 20% - actual reduction = 0.867 than multiply that by £3/kWh saving = £2.60 ish. Will now await notifications from Utrack to see if my household has not been thrown out. 😎
That’s pretty good going.
My Bright app is missing data for yesterday so I’ve had to underestimate it to be on the safe side. My conservative average is 1.22kWh and my actual today (using Bright) is 0.26kWh so at £3/kWh I estimate £2.88 reward. That’ll do nicely 👍
Edit... my Bright app has populated with the missing data and shown my average usage during this period to be 1.357kWh. I calculate that I reduced by 81% to 0.26kWh so a reduction of approximately 1.1kWh. I'm now predicting a reward of around £3.30. Even better... if my sums are right 😁
Having just amended my previous post to show I'm expecting a bigger reward than I initially thought, I've just realised that I didn't get the normal after-event email telling me my results were being calculated. I hope my efforts weren't in vain 🤔
My Bright app is still missing data from 01:00 to 23:30 on 17th, although the Eon app is showing a full day's usage. So I'm still hopeful of a decent return. Just one light left on. CH and immersion off, most standby appliances off, TV on, computer kit onto backup batteries. Hopeful of at least a 30% saving

So you haven't had any results yet, I take it? Did you get the email right after the event saying that they were doing the calculations?
