Yes I have reset it.
Yes I have taken it off the charger and switched it off for 2 hours.
Yes I have been switched it on as its sat next to the electricity meter!
It shows that message, with the signal icon ( top left) flashing and then after a while the 3 light buttons alight and the device powers down showing then starts up says "welcome to your energy supplier"shows the serial number and then goes again.
The clock states 0:00.
was working fine yesterday.
Not sure what else I can do.

it's been working fine since I've had it last year and just had this error in the last day. Surely of it's now not recognised I would expect eon to send me a suitable replacement?

May be a comms issue so the meter checker is a good start.
Can you tell us the exact status of the lights on the comms hub... particularly the HAN. Are they red, green, off, flashing or solid. If flashing then at exactly what rate.
Not on the IHD, but on the meter comms hub itself...
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

No, you expect wrong. If the IHD is more than 12 months old...it's not going to happen.
