Evening everyone there has been lot's of great advice here 😊 let's try to keep things on topic though so it stays helpful for other members viewing this thread too.

A different (and possibly legitamate) point to the one you originally posted about.
Maybe time to lock this thread as this has morphed into something different to that originally posted. 👍
Its not different, My visibility of and access to various tariffs is linked to the fact I dont pay by DD.Its part of the issue. Glad you agree with me on that at least
Im looking at the Forward Delivery Contract prices on OFGEMs website.
Wholesale prices for electrcity and gas are nearly 80% down from the peak of a year ago. They have been this low since April. Why are we being thrown literal crumbs instead of benefitting from this enourmous collapse in energy prices?
This is your first post and this is what I referred to.
Hmmm. Well, when I have it explained to me why it is reasonable I cannot have access to all tariffs, even though I pay online and on time (just not by DD), then I will make an informed choice. Until then I consider it an unfair restrcition on consumer choice.

I don't necessarily agree with your premise that I agree with you but I am wondering if you might be better starting a new thread along the lines of 'Why are the tariffs for PORB more expensive than DD tariffs?'
you are by not accepting payment by DD on a tariff that is priced to compensate for those who don’t pay up on time, thus causing additional supplier costs, plus others who don’t pay at all before they’re forced onto prepayment terms.
you haven’t told us your region and we cannot verify the costs you face, but as you say the difference between you costs and ours are more than 7%, so tariffs and regional difference will be part of the explanation.
you can get a more competitive pricing by going into DD and a fix or discounted variable tariff, covering both gas and electricity. The choice you make is entirely yours, but we have all decided to accept the terms and conditions of other tariffs and accept the pricing.

I wonder if @MAW is quoting his price from September, while the rest of us are referring to October pricing, after the OFGEM cut in the price cap. Can you tell us what region you live in please?
The ability to pay by DD and get DD pricing after receipt of bill is not available from all suppliers.
I'm not sure if any other supplier provides equivalence between fixed DD rates and fixed POBR rates. If such a tariff exists then perhaps this can be mentioned in this thread. I started to look for it but decided my time was better spent on Wordle and the like 👍.
