Typically the non DD route is 7% more expensive. Fact!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@retrotecchie "From OFGEM figures the difference between DD and non DD tariff is only about 7% comparing like for like tariffs " ... really? The difference between 38p and 29p is 7% is it? No, its nearer 25%. Think about it.
The key words here are 'like for like tariffs'. You and @retrotecchie are clearly on different tariffs and, in addition, he pays by DD.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

And I stil lcant get a fixed tariff for gas. Can I? It gas thats important coming into the winter. My electrciity usage doesnt really change that much month to month.
Ok, you are only reading HALF the information!!
If you have NEXT FLEX and pay by non DD methods, you pay about 7% more than NEXT FLEX paid by DD.
Neither JoeSoap, Mailman or I are on NEXT FLEX. We have signed up to a CHEAPER TARIFF.
Our tariff is about 13-14% CHEAPER than NEXT FLEX. So the difference between a kWh of electricity on our tariff paying by DD is that 20 or so percent difference compared to your kWh on a more expensive tariff and choosing to not pay by DD.
I don't need to think about it. I just enjoy much lower bills than you do. Of course you can't get a fixed tariff - they are only available to customers who opt to pay by direct debit.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
unfortunately MAW is part of a group that collectively, not individually , do not always pay their bills on time if at all. That and regional pricing differences might account for MAW’s extra costs, although if we knew the region we could be certain. Also some loyalty tariffs are marginally cheaper than the flex pricing.
Payment by variable Direct Debit is payment after receipt of bill, just automated. Your reluctance to adopt this method of payment makes little sense to most of us.
I pay my bills on time ALWAYS. So thats that little snipe dealt with.
They can always have a price strcuture that deals with late payers without blackmailing and penalising EVRYONE who does not have a DD.
Regional price variations arent 25%.
Regional price variation in the UK are a joke. England is a tiny little place and is light years from being large enough to jusitfy them, so that is yet another load of nonsense we all swallow hook line and sinker.
Id prob be happy setting up a Standing Order. But I can cancel a SO. Im in charge. So they wont allow that. Its all a con.
