Hello everyone, I moved to Octopus in beginning of September because my fixed rate with Eon ended.
Have a credit of £1.5k, gave Eon the final meter readings but heard nothing. How do I request the refund without calling them or by phone is the only way?
I have cancelled the direct debit because they still took £450 out from my account in September after I told them my account in huge credit and my new supplier is Octopus in August.

Octopus need to be provided with the opening read which gets industry validated (by the Meter Operator used by Octopus) before being passed on via industry data flows to Eon Next. The start and end reads must coincide and Eon Next are unlikely to issue the final bill/issue any credit due back to you until this happens even if you have told this directly to Eon Next.
Eon Next will have six weeks after the switch to provide the final bill/settlement and another 10 (working days) after the 6 weeks to refund any monies due to you). Cancelling the DD was a mistake although Eon Next should have paused any further 'normal' DD payments as soon as they were informed that you were switching (again via the industry flows).
@Mailman
Thank you. received email from Octopus confirming the final meter readings accepted by Eon on 19th September. As you mentioned the six weeks, may be I am impatient, will wait until November before start chasing. Thanks again.

Just mark the dates in your calendar for the 6 weeks (max) for final bill production then another 2 weeks for the money to arrive in your bank. The 6 weeks begin from the day you became an Octopus customer and you should have been notified by Octopus as such. Octopus billing starts from that date and this may well be earlier than the 19th of September but you should know from the documentation sent by Octopus. Remember the £30 fines for missing deadlines as outlined in the Ofgem link in my original post as these are industry wide standards all the suppliers are bound by. 👍
