Just pull the main trip switch at 5 pm and pretend to everyone at home that this is the way things are for DFS. A few days later you go out to a local cafe and have a latte on the proceeds. I won't tell.
I value my life so I'll just try to delay putting the oven on until 6.30 and maybe suggest we boil a pan of water on the gas hob for a cuppa at any time within the widow. Lights, telly and Christmas trees can stay on... all LEDs so should be ok. If I only get pennies then I just won't bother again and if I fail I'll be ending my posts with ENERGY SHIFT IS A CON!!! 🤣
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
It says last 8 days but I don’t have a target kWh figure. It just says “20% target usage”. I have to make of that what I will 🤔
Mine is the same. They don't quote a value just 20% reduction. So I expect no matter what I save. i'll get just the £1 and they will pocket the rest.
I can work out my average over the last 8 days by downloading the data from Hildebrand Glowmarket. (although is this including or excluding weekends?). With no value I can't validate.
Just been invited to tomorrow’s event from 5-6.30pm. It doesn’t say what my actual target is. It just says 20% target usage. So would that be 20% reduction in normal usage or 20% of normal usage over the last eight days?
I’ve signed up anyway.
Don't forget that Eon Next need the usage from today before they know what the baseline average is going to be over 8 weekdays (or whatever the weekday count is) for the event period. Perhaps there will be a follow up email on Wednesday with more specific detail on how the 20% translates into actual kWh reduction and what the 20% translates to in money terms.

Excludes weekends and should be 10 days according to the link in a previous post today. No way I can check due to no invite.

I figured that today wouldn’t count. The reason being I could’ve consumed loads on purpose to inflate my average consumption.

Anyway, we’ll see what tomorrow brings 🤞
I've just downloaded all my data usage in 30 mins increments (and got the 5 - 6.30 of 0.07 kWh. Just went and did the weekly shopping). Once I get a figure from Eon hopefully I can find out what they calculated it on.
According to Bright I used 0.53kWh during the event against an average of around 1.15kWh over the last 8 days so saved a bit over 50%. Now let's see what they give me... if anything.
