Ah. Found one from August 2nd 2022, smart reading 1566.0
What about all the smart readings listed under 'Meter Readings History' acccessed via your online account as shown below (there should be monthly reads on the same date) ?
Statement usually generated a day later after the smart meter read. All these statements (should be monthly) can be downloaded from the statement tab once you select 'View Statements and Payments' (this is what I see on mine). Your statement date should be on the same date each month but almost certainly not on 1st (unless you happened to join Eon Next on the 1st as I did)
I will do what you suggest with the preparation of facts and figures.
It's a good idea to get some of the credit back , and starting afresh, but I fear I've zero chance of them paying it, as they think I'm not paying enough.
Yes, my statements are all listed the way yours are, except mine are all dated on the 14th of the month.
And the Meter Read History? Reads should mirror the statements (date-wise) going back 1 year+
This will give you the ammunition you need to argue the DD amount as you can then work out another year at the same price as your current fix if needs be.
Again have all the information before you make that call to CS -
'Looking at my smart meter readings I have used xxxxkWh electricity over the last year and this equates to £xxx on an annual basis at current rates. My meter read history from last year suggests I am likely to use in the region of xxxkWh between now and April 2024 costing £xxx, leading to a DD of £xx pcm to cover the usage between now and April 2024. We can evaluate where the DD needs to be post-April 2024 when my present fix ends and we know the tariff information at that time. While I am on the phone can you please set up a transfer of credit funds back to my my bank account? Shall we go with £200 to leave me with a slight buffer for the winter?'
Obviously you will need to work out these precise numbers yourself before that phone call and there should be a realisation by the CS agent that you are correct and have the data to back up what you seek. 👍
Yes but something is very wrong here - not at your end - and confusion at Eon next over gas and electric readings might be the cause. You have ample grounds for complaint. However, complaint are not dealt with by people who are more trained up than the customer service team - so if you can't get any sense from the latter, then be prepared for a long struggle.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I have no idea where they are getting their suggested amount of £165 from. It's not even as if they are using that nonsense estimated usage figure either. If they were , they'd be looking for a DD of getting on for £1,000 a month.
That estimated annual usage figure varies like mad from month to month. Sometimes over £10,000. Sometime over £9,000. Then sometimes £2,000 to £4,000.
How could they even see the gas readings?
Different supplier. And as I said, when I get a statement, I check the meter myself, and it always matches the statement.
Do what the rest of us do. Ignore the estimated annual consumption. It's irrelevant. If you know your consumption then their estimate counts for zip, nada, diddly-squat. You'll find the 'occasional first of the month' readings coincide with price cap change dates.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
