So far this month I've received 3 different bills. I've already paid two of them and now all of a sudden I've received a third. Before moving to the smart meters I was paying once a month and I've not missed a single payment so doing a payment every week seems over the top to me.
In a previous thread you said you had only been billed for electricity and had then contacted customer service who had ‘sorted out both meters’. Presumably you then received a gas bill so that would account for two of the three bills. Did you ever submit a manual gas (or electric) reading in the meantime as this too would generate a bill?
Personally, I would just leave things to settle down whilst keeping an eye on your account to see when smart readings are taken. It can take several weeks for smart meters to fully function and hopefully by next month both gas and electric smart readings will be taken on the same day so that only one bill is generated.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I got one bill on the first of the month, that was missing gas. EON handled my original questions and paid that balance in full. Then a couple days after that I got another bill (which I expected) and now I've gotten another one which I did not expect.
Could the third bill be for both fuels on the same date? If so then perhaps that date will be your monthly billing date going forward.
As long as your payments are up to date then I would probably do nothing yet and see what happens next month. If you’re concerned though, then best to contact customer service.
providing the readings and dates do not overlap and do not result in you being billed twice for the same consumption there is no real problem. We've come across this sort of issue before, particularly if manual readings and so called smart readings are made - the system seems to spit out a ill each time a new reading is received.
If you are paying on receipt of bill this can lead to unexpected payments disrupting financial planning. if paying by fixed monthly direct debit there is no financial impact.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Nope they had me on the wrong billing cycle. I just got confirmation back from them that they've switched back to monthly billing. I suspect it was because I refuse to setup a direct debit and I just pay off the bill every month manually. All sorted now.
