Just seen over at MSE today this tariff offered to a customer nearing the end of their fix. I had a look for them online via my account and unable to see the tariff listed ATM. Personally I'll be waiting to see what the Ofgem cap levels are from July 1st (announcement due next week I believe) before deciding what to do.
So, to sum up, it looks like fixes are going to arrive soon enough for those that want it.
Energy prices are dropping across the board. I found diesel at my local garage this morning below the 140p a litre mark, which is what I was paying back in the middle of 2021, and prices are expected to fall even more. 68p a therm for gas this morning, wholesale, and new legislation on the way to disconnect generation prices from the existing model where all generators are paid at the price of the highest cost (currently gas).
I'm betting on SVT rates for me coming in at well below £1000 a year for my leccy by the third quarter of this year.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie
Diesel has dropped to below £1.40 a litre up here in the North East too. Fingers crossed gas and electric prices will fall too by the third quarter of this year. Mars bars will be back on the shopping list.😃🍫🤞
Yes I noticed that petrol had dipped below £1.40 in a local garage - hope the government leave well clear of increasing fuel duty for the foreseeable future. 😉
Strangely, diesel is now the same price as unleaded. I thought the duty on diesel was a bit higher than petrol. A couple of months ago there was a good ten or more pence differential. And heating oil today is 52p a litre, so oil heating is now less than half the price of gas (5p/kWh), plus no standing charges.
It all helps. I just need the price of cheese, bread and butter to go down a bit. Cheese sandwiches make up the bulk of my dietary intake! But I'm doing good with eggs. The cheapest for 6 in my local shop is getting on for £2...my laydees are popping out 21 eggs a week for , er, 'chicken feed' 🤣
diesel here is still 10p per litre more expensive than petrol!
