I really do hope it’s wrong, but even if it’s correct there will be zero effect on our domestic prices next winter because of the built in lag in the way OFGEM sets the price cap. But it makes fixing a deal sensible. I’m
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
There is a rather gloomy forecast from Goldman Sacs reported in The Times and The Independent
Hope this proves to be wrong. 😟
Hope that the Cornwall predictions (referenced above) prove to be much closer to the the reality. 🙂
Mr Shapps said on the box this morning the following:
" He says energy prices are due to fall in the coming months.
"In the next six weeks, in the summer, people will see that feed into their bills," Shapps says.
Kuenssberg asks if we will have to accept energy bills will be higher in the long term.
Shapps says, again, that energy prices will fall and his objective as energy secretary is to create energy security. "
We have billions of pounds of new green generation projects already financed but on hold as the Grid itself is 30 years out of date. This is why EVs are going to come a cropper.
Our low cost generation capacity is plentiful. Plugging into the grid and getting the power where it needs to be used is the problem.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Interesting. I'm sure l read something in one of papers last year about the GLA might have to stop new builds in parts of west London. Something about the National Grid not having the capacity. I'll have to see if I can find it 🤔.
