Friday is the fifth day of the working week, with Saturday the first day of the weekend, BUT, it wasn't in all countries. Saturday, until recently, was in some the beginning of the of the working week! πŸ™ƒ Hence their weekend was Thursday and Friday. A Friday Roast doesn't quite sound the same πŸ€”.

I agree, 'Friday Roast' doesn't have the same ring to it as 'Sunday Roast'.

I don't watch The Grand National so can't pick a potential winner. Being from the North East, I used to occasionally go to the midweek afternoon flat race meetings at Newcastle. I only used to put a few Β£1 to win bets on, but it was always a good day out.

Now that's something I have never done to date. Going to a race day or placing a bet. You are definitely one up on me πŸ˜…. As for Friday Roasts, I don't think it'll catch on. Have a great day. Grandchildren over today so things about to go bonkers. πŸ€•

I had to ask at the racecourse how to place a bet the first time I went. The biggest win I ever had was a 28 to 1, so I won Β£28 plus some place money, and they paid out Β£33. It paid for the admission for the two of us, plus covered the cost of a coffee and a sandwich, so a free day out.πŸ˜€

I have two great-nephews, so I know what it will be like when your grandchildren are over. Have a great day! πŸ™„
