After working with the ombudsman to get my meter switched to credit so that I can get a smart meter due to medical conditions. Eon next visited two weeks ago to update the meter to credit, my mum took two pictures of the meter for me (one on the day of the meter being switched from prepay to credit and today).
the first reading: 99999.057m3 (taken on the 17th with over £34 prepay credit)
the second reading: 00031.196m3 (taken today)
The meter starts at zero so you had to use a bit of gas to get there. First you have to count the bit that took the meter forward to 00000.000 then add the 31.196 that it now reads. So 0.943 + 31.196 = 32.139 total usage. It may be you are not charged for the 0.943 that got you to zero but I wouldn’t bank on it.
That’s how I read it anyway.

Reason: clarity
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Welcome to the community 😊 when you send in your reading we only need the numbers before the decimal point so if you were sending us reading 2 then you would tell us your reading is 00031 and we do the rest.

Hi Joe and Deb. Thank you so much for this and sorry for the very very late reply. Hopefully I can work it out so the new reading is 00096.
Because I could understand it before but unable to now, I am hoping this is correct.
With a rate of 10.85 p/kWh 34.34 p/day
96(this months reading) - 31(from last months reading) = 65.
10.86pkwh (rounded) x 65 / 10 = £70.53 (rounded)
34.34 rounded to 35 instead.
35 x 29 (days since my last reading was taken) / 100 = £10.15
———-
70.53 + 10.15 = £80.74 for the month roughly (maybe a penny less)
@Connor_EONNext Hi Connor, the meters are still the same, but switching to credit has been a big help, especially as I no longer need to worry about it cutting off on recovery days when I am really ill and unable to leave the house. The only issue I have is I am still waiting for my credit smart meters as I still haven't received that and with being unable to bend under the cupboard to read the meter. The smart meter will be really handy to have.
If I ask for an update email, the response is always that there are still waiting for my accounts to be merged, I rang and someone told me my accounts have been merged and that I am not eligible for a smart meter, although I meet the requirements.
Can you help Connor?
