Hi,
We have a smart prepayment meter and are waiting for this to be converted to a credit meter....will be done by the end of January according to Eon (the January that was two months ago)
The app is now saying I need to top up on the website, but the top up button has disappeared on the website. Can anyone tell me what is going on?
Changing from Smart PAYG to Smart Credit should be easily done remotely as far as I'm aware. I wondering if the changeover has just occurred, hence the lack of a top-up button, and you haven't been informed. One for customer service I think.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Hi Joe, appreciate your response. Eon have not confirmed any change taking place, and I have emailed multiple times. Would really hope we might get a heads up before they would just change it. I will email Customer services if I don't get a response on here
I agree that you should have been informed if the change has occurred. I’m concerned you might run out of credit if it hasn’t though. Emails can take days or even weeks to illicit a response so I would be inclined to phone and leave my handset on speaker until someone answers.
Fortunately I topped up yesterday by quite a big amount and we are set to emergency credit over the weekend anyway in case of worst case scenarios. The phone lines close at 4pm on a Friday so will have to be a Monday call
In the meantime, you can download a barcode from your app which will enable you to top up at a PayZone terminal if need be. This allows a payment to be made in the shop that will be credited to your smart meter.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie Nope unfortunately don't even have that option, can log in but cant see anything else. I'm aware of how it all works, so I know there is a glitch somewhere!
