I'm a customer just like yourself so unfortunately I can't help with your question.
When is next E.ON Next Demand-Flexibility-Service ?
-
Headline today in the Daily Mail...
National Grid will start paying people tomorrow night to cut their electricity use for the first time
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...pm-Monday.html
They got that all wrong then -
@Actual I'm sorry, I've only just signed up to this I didn't realise I'd added you into my comment

@Mstty
I'm sure folks will be very interested in your next set of results to see if this supports your loading theory and specifically what time to run the appliances that you mention.
On a different note (but related), has anyone received more than the 'could earn' amount suggested in the initial email from Eon Next? For example, I am very happy to do washing and tumble drying in the immediate 3 hour period before the event if it is going to inflate the 55p that Eon Next have stated I 'could earn' for very obvious reasons. -
Absolutely. This is my best result so far (see my avatar)
12/12 Earn around £2.38, typical usage 3.92 kWh, reduce by 0.78 kWh target usage 3.14 kWh over 2 hours. Target per hour is 1.57 kWh per hour.
You reduced your energy usage by 68% which means you'll get £12.84 credited to your account.
For other events I easily saved enough energy but I was told FAILED.
Hence I call CON. -
Thanks.
So £2.38 inflated to £12.84. Impressive. And did you do the loading as suggested in the immediate 3 hour period before the event rather than just cutting down in the actual period?Last edited by Mailman; 22-01-23 at 22:51.

I didn't previously know about the 3 hour period leading up to the event but I may have inadvertently benefited becuase on a few occasions I was charging an electric vehicle for a few hours using a granny charger at about 2.5kW which I disconnected at the time of the event.
It may be the case that National Grid pays the energy supplier extra if there is increased usage prior to the event but it is intended for environmental variables such as cold weather and is averaged over 1000's of customers and "Each energy provider will have individual incentives for their campaigns" so the extra may not be passed on to us. -
@Crazymango
No,didn't get any notifications and got the run around from customer service. It was only here on the forum that I eventually found a few months into the events that Eon Next would only consider choosing you if you had marketing and half hourly reads switched on in your profile. Shame they didn't tell people that back in Sept/Oct.
Anyway white a few discussion with Eon Next and they have issued a deadlock letter so will let the ombudsman rule on the intricacies of that complaint.
Despite jumping through those hoops above they still have not sent me an invite so I had to join a slightly less lucrative scheme with loop (they take 20%) anyway that will all go in the complaint.
