My Fix 2 Year v11 tariff is coming to an end and looking to transfer to new tariff.
Obviously direct debit will go up.. but does not look too bad.
Presently in credit at around £1,000...
Can I negotiate a slightly lower DD using the built up credit.
At the moment the only tariff that we have available is the Next Flex which is our standard variable tariff, we don't currently have any fixed tariffs at the moment. You can manage your direct debit from your online portal including reducing by up to 10%. If you feel like your direct debit is still too high please get in touch with our energy specialists and they can look into this with you 😊

I'm sure you could do this although there is another option that you might not have considered - variable direct debit. Basically Eon Next would take or request a meter reading at a certain date, work out the resulting bill arising and then apply it to your account. However if you are in credit (as you obviously are) then £0 would be taken on a DD some 17days later to clear the account balance, so a free month and so on until your credit runs out. But there would be nothing to stop you making a manual debit card payment each month at a reduced level until you decided to stop this or your credit on the account had run out. This way you are in total control and won't need to negotiate the fixed DD amount. Of course at some point in the future you might decide to go back to fixed DD - nothing to stop you doing that.
Whatever choice you make, you will need to talk to customer services over the phone to get the variable DD set up or to negotiate a revised fixed DD payment.
it is likely that only variable rate tariffs would be available to you. There are few if any fixed rates available now and as rates look as though they will fall gradually , now would not be a good time to fix. Rates from April will go up another 20% from current rates so factor that into your calculations.
