The suppliers have had the money up front from HMG as well as a list 'per supplier' of all their qualifying customers. The money is in the bank, the recipients have been identified. Customers of several other companies have already had the payment.
If it takes them a bit longer than other suppliers to disburse the payments, well that's one thing. The most concerning aspect for me is that as soon as HMG told the suppliers which customers are to get the payment, I would have expected those customers to have at least had some notification in the form of a message or email in their account, rather than just leave us sitting in the dark wondering.
Likewise, I would have also expected a supplier communication to each qualifying customer for WHD. Other companies seem to have managed this a lot better.
Having spent half an hour on the phone to the WHD helpline yesterday, the advisor was stunned to hear that I have not heard a peep from E.On Next. She confirmed we not only have more than one qualifying benefit and are significantly below the income threshold for the household, but our property scored well above the threshold for 'high heating cost'. But thus far....nada.
Come on @retrotecchie - this is E.On Next - the company with the ethos of treating its customers fairly, where everything is sweetness and light from the nexties on the forum, but whose failures in their business processes earned them a severe rebuke from OFGEM recently.
What did you really expect? I'd have been surprised if it had been any other way.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Oh, no 'real' expectations. Just hopes. Sadly dashed along with most of my others...
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
We have oil-fired central heating, but there is also a gas main close by. We do not have a gas meter. I'm led to believe our payment will not be automatic and that I 'may have to apply' via a portal on www.gov.uk but I cannot locate anything. Has anyone else had this problem?
If you do not have a gas meter, then you don't have an MPRN number. That is one of the qualifying criteria. But as I said, some communication would have been helpful to clarify.
Thank you for your reply. I'm confused now. This is what Google says:
What is a MPRN number used for?
A Meter Point Reference Number (or MPRN) is a unique 11 digit number that is linked to your electricity connection and meter – it is used to identify your address that is supplied with electricity. It will never change and is unique to your home and meter, rather than yourself or your electricity supplier.
You either use the money you would have otherwise spent on electricity to buy LPG, or you contact customer services and ask for the £200 to be credited to your bank account if you are a credit customer. I'll just save the £200 I would have otherwise paid to E.On Next by direct debit over the next couple of months and put the savings towards my June oil order.

No. The MPRN refers to the gas meter. The MPAN number is for the electricity meter.
