I think that once the government has got its facts straight it will provide a list of addresses with no mains gas to electricity energy suppliers. There will be errors galore no doubt.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
UK Energy Networks maintain the national database of MPRN numbers, i.e. Installed gas meters. If you do not have gas, they know this. Likewise, they also know all the addresses in the UK that are physically not able to connect to the gas grid.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Hey @Jenny381010 👋 thanks for pointing this out I have rectified my thread, I had missed out the OR when writing this thread 🙈. At the moment as I mentioned above the finer details have not been finalised yet and a plan is still being discussed between energy suppliers and BEIS on how people will be able to register. The moment we get any further details we will update this thread so keep an eye out here 😊

Draft guidance on how the scheme will operate has now been given to the energy companies by the Government. This information will be available to the public within the next week.
They have ten days or thereabouts to finalise the system for AFP with the suppliers and gather and validate necessary information as the AFP will, or should be, paid alongside February's EBSS payment.
The Government rules state that WHD must be paid no later than 31/3/23, so on that basis I expect to see AFP long before the WHD. But I'm not holding my breath...
The vast majority of eligible households will receive the payment from Feb 6th. Those that do not have a direct relationship with an energy supplier will need to apply via the online portal, opening in February.
Customers have been identified using an off the gas grid database and recent census information.
The majority of customers will receive their £200 automatically via their electricity supplier starting on February 6, in a similar fashion to other recent government payments (direct debit, credit to account or voucher).
There will be some small exceptions – for example customers that don’t have an electricity account or those that use oil but live in a gas grid area. These customers will need to apply via an online portal which will be open in February alongside a post code checker.
Customers who are eligible for the Alternative Fuel Payment (AFP) will receive a payment automatically through their electricity supplier in February 2023. For most there should be no need to take any further action, however there may be some who need to supply for example those who may be completely off grid and do not have a relationship with an energy supplier will need to apply for AFP when the government portal opens on the GOV.UK pages.
