@KenMavor Hi, We live in North East England . The house we live in was built in 1970 and has never had gas. We have been here 25 years and continued to use oil as until a few years ago there was no gas nearby

I found this which will be of interest to folks here. Today is 6th March and still no sign of the gov.uk portal.
Energy bill support schemes: letter from Minister Solloway to local authority leaders, 1 March 2023 (publishing.service.gov.uk) -
The 'Portal' is now open.
Hoops to jump through regarding uploading evidence you use oil (or other).
an email address or phone number (if you have one)
your bank account details
proof that you’ve spent £200 on alternative fuels to heat your home since September 2022 (for example, a delivery note or receipt
The September 2022 cut off date seems rather arbitrary! What if you had your oil tank filled in August and are still using that delivery ? All those who have already been paid via their electricity supplier haven't had to prove the same!
The register of MPRN's (gas meters at addresses) was used for those. The same register shows I don't have a gas meter/supply.

All entered as required. The only thing that concerns me slightly is that the delivery docket gives the date and quantity, but neither the price per litre nor a total cost. The bill was well over the £200, so I'll just have to wait and see if 'common sense' prevails.

@AssumeNothing
My neighbour who is not on grid electricity (they have a 50kW wind turbine and battery storage) just uploaded screenshots from his Boilerjuice account showing delivery dates, amounts paid, ppl etc. I just ordered 500 litres of oil yesterday. £370 plus change. Substantially cheaper than gas per kWh and no standing charges, but the government money was certainly most appreciated. A solid stone 19th century cottage needs rather a lot of kWh to keep it up to a comfortable 16°C throughout the cold months.
To be fair, the £200 helped offset the cost of my last delivery at 84ppl rather than contribute too much to this one!Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -

Eeeewww ... why didn't I think of that! Never mind, I'm sure it'll work out in the end. -

I read the guff (out of curiosity as my payment was automatic) and was slightly surprised to see they were asking for 'proof' of spending more than £200 on 'alternative fuels' after September 22. So what if you bought in 2000 litres in, say, August and then don't order another top up until next August? I'm assuming common sense would prevail there too, but wanting proof you spent the money after September seems a bit daft to me.
The same with LPG. I used 47kg Calor bottles for the hob at my last place. I bought two new ones when I moved in, and they lasted me almost four years. No way would I have been able to show 'proof'.
I hope it soon comes through for you, but you're right about the hoops... -
I popped round to tell my 'non-technical' neighbour that the link was live. As I got there, she was just taking an oil delivery. We came back to my house and I filled in her details on-line and scanned the receipt for her. All done and dusted, but she told me she wouldn't have had a clue without me to help.
