Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I can confirm that at no point, have the DCC ever said anything about specific models of SMETS1 meters that aren't able to be adopted onto their network and begin communicating again so we can't confirm 100% which ones will and won't.
DCC themselves haven't, but they are just a government subcontractor.
The Government, and specifically the BEIS, have said: In June 2020 BEIS (Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) decided in response to a consultation that it would be cheaper to replace EDMI SMETS 1 meters with SMETS 2 meters. EDMI refused to offer technical support for the migration thus increasing potential costs.
Bottom line ANY EDMI SMETS1 meter cannot and never will be migrated, not even by 2025. Not specific models, but an entire make!
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Maybe DDC haven't but

I wouldn't count on any SMETS1 meter getting reconnected or even replaced. Mine stopped working when I moved from my old supplier to E.ON late 2020, too many calls and emails since to E.ON and then E.ON Next to just be fobbed off every time with 'it takes time to connect to the DCC, you just need to wait'. I've given up now and just give manual readings every month.
When I moved to the v19 fixed tariff before the EPG was announced I was also told by the agent on the phone that I would have to have my SMART meters replaced and I would be contacted to arrange that - nope, never heard a thing since........
Funnily enough though there was a point last November where I could see my electricity usage in the app (I can't now) and I had a few transactions billed as SMART readings, I emailed E.ON Next to ask if my electricity SMART meter had been reconnected late November 2022, apart from a reply to ask to confirm my post code and to say they would look into it I've heard nothing back since.
I now feel total and utter frustration with E.ON. I'm caught in a situation where I inherited a SMETS 1 meter and cannot get anything done to get things working again. E.ON refuse to help and 'pretty shambolic' would sum up my dealings with them sadly.
You can switch to another supplier, since you are getting nowhere here.
you could also make a complaint on the basis that you ar being prevented from utilising your solar generation.
there is no point doing anything else as your issue has been debated fully in other threads, unless you have some new information to add.
The bulk moves managed by DCC have been completed.at the end of 2022. Remaining dumb smart meters (except EDMI which cannot de enrolled) might be capable of enrolment through work between DCC and the supplier, but its a time consuming and resource hungry process, which will find little favour with the suppliers.
What i anticipate will happen is that the old meters will be swapped, possibly with new meters and comms hubs, or with old "reconditioned" meters proven to work (in test facilities) on the DCC network, because this saves money for the suppliers and us as customers as metering cost are incorporated into our standing charges.
