I had my smart meters fitted on 28th November, I have been trying to have them read and statements issued. After emailing I finally got a bill for electric but nothing for gas. On the app it says data missing for electric. All I want is to get as it was before the smart meter when I got a bill every month.
Until the meters settle in, just carry on submitting manual readings every month, until you start seeing consistent smart reads in your app. Some meters take easy, weeks or even months to start working consistently.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Thank you for that but it won't let me submit a reading for the new meter, just says no readings as yet for this meter. Would love to be able to send one.
I would make a complaint - thousands of new meters are installed each day and that’s a lot of potentially inconvenienced customers.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Yes, I think this is the case but the new meter was at 0 so I will have to keep trying to get them to do a reading. The reading shows on my IHD so don't understand why they can't do it.
If the meters were only installed on the 28th of November, it might depend on the billing cycle they are using. If they hadn't finished synchronising to the network before the first attempt to read was successful taken, it may be another month before the cycle comes round again.
Are you on a fixed monthly DD or variable DD (pay on receipt of bill)). If the former, you should be fine. If the latter, and you cannot submit readings, then tot up your own consumption figures, use your known tariffs and calculate your own interim bill, then make a manual payment.
Thankfully I'm on a fixed monthly DD so should have enough in credit to cover the bill. I understand what you're saying about the billing cycle but they've managed to issue an electric bill but not gas.
Because the electric meter is also the communications hub, electricity never seems to be too much of a problem. The gas meter talks to the electric meter via the hub and for some reason, certain gas meters just take a little longer to get their act together. It should eventually sort itself out. If your IHD is showing readings for both fuels then it's a case of just sit and wait. If the problem persists after this time next month then there may be some other issue. It's rare that any new install of dual meters works immediately.
The other thing worth a quick check...make sure your gas meter serial number agrees with the meter serial number shown on your account. Occasionally transcription errors happen between the meter installer and E.On so if the numbers do not tally, that may explain the problem.
Also, always worth checking that both your meters are indeed visible to the smart network. You can check that here
