it seems to me that @retrotecchie is correct, but what @Sue97 has been told by customer service is incorrect based on what @PeterT_EONNext wrote in his linked reply. This is a matter where the E.On Next staff need to intervene, as it is beyond the ability of volunteers on the forum to resolve. If @Sue97 hasn’t been given the correct documentation with the smart meters, it’s not possible to do as advised by @retrotecchie.
@Beki_EONNext can you resolve this please?
@Sue97 if your log in on the forum is the same as your account log in, your account will be able to be identified. If it is not the same could you drop Beki a pm(tap the handle to get to be able to send her a PM) with your account details - but do not post them here on the forum for all to see.

Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I can confirm that you do have smart pay as you go meters and your EBSS payment will get sent to your meters directly.
Although you top up online using the app/account, you also have the option in your online account to download a barcode to take to the shop and put credit on your meters that way.
Please can you confirm that you are awaiting you EBSS payment to credit your account?
the issue is that there is a charity credit of £97 that is awaiting credit to the account because @Sue97 doesn’t have the necessary barcode to tAke to the shop. Also customer service has failed over and over to understand the issue and proffered bad advice.
@Sue97 - I would head to your online account and print off or screenshot your Smary PAYG meter barcode and take the charity voucher to the shop and they will be able to add that credit by using your barcode.
I've attached a screenshot of an online account home screen and you'll see the barcode option as one of the first options there.
