Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Could someone explain why both my smart meters have been read on 3rd January 2023 and no bill is forthcoming for gas or elec?
When are your smart meters normally read for billing purposes and on what date is your bill usually generated?
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
we’re not mind readers, and we don’t have access to the company systems! My direct debit is in train and my bill was raised for my reading made on 1 Jan. because I’m on a fixed direct debit the bill amount in any one month isn’t important at all nor whether it’s raised at all nor the gap between each bill. So while I can see that readings should trigger a bill shortly afterwards , I wonder why it is of concern if it isn’t. The amount will be the same whenever it is produced and payment timescales will not be affected.
@MagsM
Could possibly be a delay because the Christmas Holiday period has caused a bit of a backlog. My gas bill DD was taken on 3rd Jan, but is still showing as a pending payment which has not yet been applied, and I'm giving them a few more days to catch up. I would suggest you wait until early next week, and if no bill appears, either contact Eon-Next, or try submitting the readings manually online, to see if that generates a bill.😀

@retrotecchieHi, normally the next day, as I said both readings were done on the 3rd, today I received the Government payment but still no bills, I thought perhaps the systems were updating due to the price increase on 1st Jan, I'll wait till Monday and see what happens then, thanks :-)
Things tend to show up a little slower at the beginning of the month, especially as there has also been a huge spike in workload issuing vouchers, updating accounts and a whole slew of customers with non-smart meters submitting their meter readings to coincide with price cap changes. Your bill will have been produced and totted up at the 'back end'...it just hasn't got as far as the customer-facing app or website just yet due to the sheer amount of traffic happening. When it does appear, you will probably find that it is indeed dated the day after your meter reads, i.e. 4 January.
I went six days in November waiting on a bill. When it turned up, it was dated 02 November as it should have been and matched to the penny with my own calculations. Obviously the delay was not good, but be assured that it will arrive, and show the correct billing date.
