Could someone explain why both my smart meters have been read on 3rd January 2023 and no bill is forthcoming for gas or elec?
I've just got my statement and there's 2 electricity readings both from my smart meter but no mention of my gas meter readings or any amount relating to gas. To be honest I've never had straightforward statements from Eon.
Go to your gas meter and take a manual reading and submit it on line. If you can't get a display on your gas meter or it's showing a low battery message, then your meter battery has died. That will require a call to customer services. If all is working correctly, then I suspect it's just the usual delays in their system.

Thanks. I will certainly read the outside gas meter. I have recently got an in home display so would they not be able take a reading from that?
No, the In Home Display is separate from the actual smart network used for the supplier to take readings. If your IHD is showing readings that look right, I.e registering gas consumption accurately then it looks like your gas meter is probably fine. Just delays at their end.

Quick update, I received my bills late last night on my web account and the statement followed today, to be fair, I was quite relieved as I thought my gas bill would have been much higher after such temperatures in December, alas my IHD is still not functioning. I'm not altogether sure my charges are correct though, something I will have to look into 🙄
