I had three days in early January where I averaged 5kWh per day. Chuffed with that👍
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
last 30 days just less than 6 kWh per day. Long may it continue.
Gas though 2400 kWh in same period, which is for me quite good, but expensive nonetheless.
My rolling 12 month gas consumption in past 2 years has been up to 17,200 kWh for 12 months down to 12,900 kWh. The weather makes a lot of difference. This is perhaps first time I've turned the thermostat settings down one degree C. Because i have a solar thermal panel, my gas consumption chart looks like a row of reptile teeth!

Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
That's not bad at all. My 'budget' is 8kWh a day but anything less than that is more than acceptable. Obviously I've no gas so all our cooking is electric by default but the rolling average is visibly dropping as the air cooker has pretty much taken over the regular oven. Still trying to reduce baseline load but there is a fridge and two freezers contributing a big chunk of that.
@Mailman @meldrewreborn
Edited to add: Having now analysed a full month of data (my energy month runs from 20th to 19th as I moved into the property on 20th Dec 2021), my predicted annual electricity usage for a year is now sat at 2929kWh. I should be able to knock a bit off that as it's simply based on my last month's usage multiplied by 12 months. Bearing in mind it's the darkest month and includes profligate use of electricity for cooking over the Festering Season, plus occasional use of the evil tumble drier, the usage should be much lower than my projections.
My rolling average, to include Christmas is 8.9kWh a day but for the last week my average is 7.56kWh. Y Axis is either kWh or £ depending on which line you look at.
E.On Next calculate on my 01 Jan bill that my estimated annual usage will be 4370.2 kWh a year. That's 49% more than I estimate!
Absolutely no need for you to turn the fridge on or off - just notice (if you can) how long the compressor cycle is. If there was a hum all the time that might indicate an issue.
An electric oil heater might use 1-1.5 kW/per hour (mine did) but with such a low consumption maybe something else had been inadvertently left on - we will never know for sure.
TBH though I don't think you have any issues but you are right to monitor your consumption regularly and can than spot issues arising faster.
@MissD The forum volunteers have been really helpful with your query here. Have they helped you with a resolution at all?
If you do need someone to look into your account further you can always reach out to an Energy Specialists, via Whatsapp, social media, email or on the phone. 😊
@Beki_EONNext Thank you. I am very grateful to the community volunteers (thank you @Mailman and @meldrewreborn) for taking the time to respond to my queries and give useful suggestions. I'm still not sure what caused the spike in the last month, but I have been monitoring my usage for a few days and usage seems to be back to normal. I'll just keep monitoring for now.
@MissD That is fantastic to hear. Keep us informed on how it goes this month! I'm trying to cut down my usage this week but I think I chose the wrong week to do this, with the colder snap!
@MissD Im the same - huge spike last month, no idea why, impossible to find out, completely in the dark, things getting back to normal, EON just sit tight, dont help and we eventually just pay up.
