Hello all.
We had a smart meter fitted yesterday and I’m somewhat baffled by a couple of the readings on the meter.
Local Time for instance. Checking this now it reads 04.57.23. Whereas the actual time is 7pm.
Local Date reads 02.01.00. (Actual date is clearly 04.01.22)
Load limit status inactive. No idea what this means or if it’s at all relevant.
Are the date and time settings on the meter wrong and need resetting to the actual date and time or do they not relate in any way to the actual date and time?
Since the meter didn’t come with a manual I’m loathe to press any buttons.
In which case, don't worry about it. The meter would have powered up with default factory date and time settings and will at some point pick up a time synchronisation message from the smart network. Unless you have Economy 7, the time and date have no real bearing on anything.
Load limit inactive means you are not subject to any 'rationing'. That is, your meter isn't limiting your consumption to a specific level. Smart meters are capable of this as part of future energy demand managements, but the feature isn't currently used by the suppliers, so no need to worry about it.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
What is the model of your in home display? I suspect there is a menu where you can set date and time, so if you let us know the type of display you have, we can find you some instructions.👍
Alternatively, this link here should help you find a user guide
A Zigbee Standard 420?
That would seem to be the basic model name and number. There’s a multitude of other letters and numbers plastered all over it of course but hopefully Zigbee Standard 420 is what you you’re asking for.
Okay, thank you that’s all good to know. I will check it occasionally to see if it has indeed synchronised.
Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
And just as a point of note, when it does get the update, it will be GMT. The metering system uses GMT all year round and does not correct in March or October for BST changes.
