    Hi,
Wondered if anybody could shed some light on some strange readings I have had on smart reader since new year. E.G 28th of Dec my gas usage was 49.88 KWh costing £2.20 on same day electric usage was 18.37 kwh costing £3.71. On the 02nd of Jan 2023 my gas usage was 51.16 Kwh but costs were £5.56, electricity usage was 19.49 and £6.92. So comparable usage but much higher costs. No other data has changed. Tariff levels are ok on reader and online account. Having difficulty contacting help desk so I though I would reach out and see if others had experienced the same thing. I think there may have been a very small adjustment to the cap made by GOV. I thought this would only change things by a few pence.

    Thanks,

Lots of folk seem to be saying the same thing. I suspect new tariff data at the full OFGEM cap rates has been pushed to the meters, and will then need updating again to reflect the new levels of EPG discount. Your bottom line pricing should remain roughly the same. I'd be inclined to try resetting the IHD by powering it off, waiting for an hour and then firing it up again, allow it to reconnect and then see if it sorts itself out.

I don't have a so-called smart meter or IHD and to me they come across as anything but smart.

My personal recommendation is to simply ignore the cash values and just set the IHD to show actual consumption in kWh.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
