Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

The changes are because OFGEM changed ( increased!!) its prices ordinarily chargeable under the price cap. The government has increased its EPG contribution to keep the average dual fuel price (ex VAT) to £2,500 per annum. The results are shown above.

    • The EPG gave, from October-December 2022, a unit rate discount of 17p/kWh for electricity and 4.2p/kWh for gas
    • from January 2023 to March 2023 the reduction is greater, 31.8p/kWh for electricity and 6.4p/kWh for gas

The EPG will be changed to reflect an average price of £3,000 from April 1, so in general terms expect a 20% hike in net rates payable then.

DD customers hardly see any change but Standard/Prepayment see a small change. Northern DD customers will see a very slight reduction. So I expect to see the rates for my Bills for post Jan 1st altered accordingly to reflect this marginally lower rate.

Joy... My electricity unit price has gone down. A whole 0.005p per kWh. That will save me a couple of pence over the coming quarter.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Wow! At that rate you can look forward to a Mars bar in about 10-12 years time.😃🍫

Oops, I forgot about inflation. Better make it 12-15 years for the Mars bar then, (because I doubt if inflation will go down any time soon)!

At my time of life, 12 to 15 years is too long to wait. I'll hang on for 5 years and settle for a Mars Bar out of the Miniature Heroes box.
