Turning gas meter readings into KWH

I find the process of turning gas meter readings into KwH and thus into a £ really tedious.

Best AnswerHey there @MAW,
The calculations are on the side of your bill. The calorific value of gas changes every day. It's given to the industry by the National Grid.
I've attached a screenshot of my latest bill to share the calculations.
Hope you're having a wonderful festive period.

the calorific value drifts slowly , the others are constant. Once you’ve worked out that multiplying cu mt by 11.6 (or close) to get kWh from your consumption once you can use that as a fairly accurate rule of thumb for a year at least.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -

And a very simple matter to put the formula into your spreadsheet so all the calculations are done for you. Just enter your meter reads in cubic metres, no tedium involved.
When your bill arrives, it's just a case of tweaking the calorific value and volumetric corrections if need be.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
