I have recently discovered that I am being charged a higher rate to what I fixed my energy at in march, I have been told they can change my tariff now but they can’t correct previous bills is this correct?

it should be

if you did get a fixed tariff back in March it should continue to be honoured, the introduction of the Energy Price guarantee did not increase prices in October but did tweak some prices down.
I suspect that your fix price deal was not put in place properly. You should make a complaint. Your bills can be adjusted to reflect the correct pricing back to March.
