Big challenge!

Energy Shift event Monday 12/12/2022 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
It is now 5pm
The event is about to start.
My target is...
12/12 Earn around £2.38, typical usage 3.92 kWh, reduce by 0.78 kWh target usage 3.14 kWh over 2 hours. Target per hour is 1.57 kWh per hour
Right now in real time I am using 1.07 kW
This is with
2 x Computers
1 x Xbox
1 x TV
1 x Sky
2 x Smart lighting
2 x Central heating -
@Actual
Go for it - just cancel the last three items from the list and light a candle - consider dropping the Xbox and play a game of Twister by candle light! No end of fun when you are cold! -
All I need to do is keep my energy use below 1.57 kW which is extremely generous and easy to achieve whilst enjoying normal home comforts.
On the other hand despite being consistently within the targets I was informed that so far I FAILED 3 out of 4 energy shifts and with no explanation.
It would be great if someone in the know could come on and explain the criteria for a successful energy shift.
I await my latest result and hopefully it wont turn out to be more Eon Energy Shift CON. -
@Actual
Yes I wish I could explain how they do the calculation - I can't - I have no idea how its worked out. There are certainly clever people on this forum who probably can. For us, we have no electrical equipment on apart from the fridge (yes its that dire) - lights are out and candles are lit - laptops go to battery - telly is off and extra layers of clothing are applied! - for me that's it i'm afraid but thus far (4 x 1 hour slots) we have been repaid over £30 - so will continue for foreseeable future - sometimes ignorance is bliss and I try not to ponder the 'how its calculated' mechanics. -
Hey everyone! How did you get on with the 2 hours? Especially in the dark and the cold? Did you go to the pub like @retrotecchie suggested? 😂
-
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Hi @Beki_EONNext
My target was...
12/12 Earn around £2.38, typical usage 3.92 kWh, reduce by 0.78 kWh target usage 3.14 kWh over 2 hours. Target per hour is 1.57 kWh per hour
According to Bright...
17:00 to 18:00 1.06 kWh
18:00 to 19:00 0.95 kWh
2.01 kWh total over 2 hours
So did I smash it?
Have I passed the Energy Shift?
Or like 3 out of 4 previous energy shifts will I be told "you didn’t meet your energy reduction target this time"?
