Worried that my current Electric useage statements are wrong ? Used 10 times more in 3 weeks than the previous 6 weeks !
Small one bedroom flat, out at work all day, same routine.
The only difference I can see is the higher one was a Data Collector reading ?
Firstly, the data collector readings seem way wrong. Secondly, why are you being charged the wrong tariff for night rate. If you have Economy 7, the night rate should be nearer 10p a unit after government cap has been applied.
Can you post your tariff details?

@retrotecchie I don't know why I am on Economy 7, I have been querying this since the engineer who fitted my smart meter told me it was wrong. I received this reply :
You will still see a day and night rate on your bills as you do still have an economy 7 meter but you will notice you are on a 'flat' rate, meaning the charge for the day is the same as the night, which is the same as if you had a normal credit meter, so I can confirm you are not being incorrectly charge for this.
Sometimes a two rate meter is treated as a single rate meter when E7 isn’t needed anymore.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
The date collector reading seems to be the problem here, and given that readings were getting through via smart meter system totally unnecessary. If you are paying after receipt of bill, your debit will be overinflated. If you pay by fixed DD then it’s no immediate problem, but still needs to be rectified via customer service.
@meldrewreborn Thank you. I have emailed 3 times no response as yet, long wait on the phone. I pay by DD, just had a letter saying i have been switched to a Variable rate.

Do you have access to your meters? I'd be inclined to see just how close the meter reads stated for the 1st December stement are to what you have in reality before contacting Eon Next. Take a photo if you can of the registers on your meter (i.e. the nightime and daytime reads). The numbers (meter reads) on the latest bill are weird to state the obvious. Perhaps the MOP - Meter Operator (responsible for the DC meter reading) have performed a validation on the actual reads and submitted validated reads used in the Dec 1st statement (but totally different read to your actual reads previously lifted by Eon Next on a schedule). Hence photos might be helpful - or you could just submit more manual reads and see what happens then.
You should be able to see a list of all meter reads listed (and described) in your online account as well which may shed some light on your problems.
