Been away for a few days and credit on pre-pay meter ran out. Added credit but gas is still off and tried ringing the emergency number but it just disconnects after one ring.
You need to add a minimum of £6 plus your emergency credit limit to the card or key, in order to take you back into normal operation again.
Once you have enough credit on the card/key, push the button on your meter until you see a message that says Hold for gas. Then, press and hold the button again for ten seconds until the gas valve comes on again.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
I 'm glad you managed to get sorted @garrycopeland. Welcome to the community by the way I'm Deb one of the community co-ordinators 👋
I've also taken this as feedback as I agree it would be useful to have this information on our website. I'm pleased you managed to find the community though, our members are full of fantastic knowledge and I'm sure if you have any further questions then someone will usually be able to help you or point you in the right direction 😊 I hope you stick around!

in the meantime a n email with gas emergency prepayment in the subject line and your account and personal details in the message should be prioritised for action.
also look at other similar threads for advice - there have been a few recently.
It is resolved now finally, but it took almost 3 hours. I'm fairly tech savvy but I could find nowhere on line that told me how to reconnect my gas supply after my my credit ran out. The eon next website was worse than useless with an antiquated and unusable search facility Absolutely unforgivable is that the out of office hours, emergency, number published by eon next (0808 501 5088) was not working. I had to resort to using whatsapp on that number and wait for a response which did, eventually, tell me how to reconnect.
If I was less tech savvy, I'd still have no gas and still be freezing until their offices opened on Monday. What is an older person, who relies on a phone, living on their own to do? Eon next really are the absolute worse of the worse.
@retrotecchie
Thank you for replying. It has been resolved. I had no idea that was the way to do, I'd topped up and taken the card out. As I said, nowhere were those instructions posted on eon next's website that I could find and with the phone number out of commission was totally stuck until I saw something about whatsapp'ing that number. I will be moving to a new energy provider as soon as I can. I bought this house back in March, where it used to be a rental, I asked eon to put in a regular meter and they refused and eon have been nothing but trouble since.
To be fair, I googled the 'get gas back on' and had hundreds of hits that all said much the same thing. Top five hits were all energy companies, but E.On Next wasn't among them.
i accept that you are not happy. But as far as I am aware no supplier is laughing all the way to the bank. It’s easy to sound off, much harder to actually substantiate that statement.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
