Each time I top up my meter I:-
Take a meter reading
Record the credit I have prior to my top up and after I have topped up.
I then have a spreadsheet set up to calculate my final reading at my next top up.
This gives me how many units I have used, which I multiply by the cost per unit (inc. VAT).
I multiply the days involved by the standing charge (inc. VAT)
I add the unit value to the standing charge and take the total away from the amount of credit that was on the meter.
This gives me a running total of how much I should have left on my meter.
All quite simple.
But... why when I check the meter is there on average £6 less than there should be.
I have been through my meter to check the unit price and standing charge are correct and they are.
I have no debt to be paid back and very very rarely use the emergency credit.
I just can't fathom it out.
I tried messaging Eon next but after their initial 'we need your name, address, account number', which I supplied over 2 hours ago, I have had no reply.
I can give the readings if someone wants to check my figures.
