Hi, is anyone on a prepayment meter, we are and we are putting in roughly £20 in 24hrs so we are roughly paying £120 a week, our neighbours adjoining us are doing that in a month like any other people i speak too. Spoken to e-on to try get topup statements so I can be sure but they only issue yearly apparently, next one not due till May 23. This seem ridiculous, just wondered if anyone else's is this high.

Prepay gas meter perchance? If so, press button A till it beeps. Then scroll through the screens by pressing the A button again until you get to screen 27. Does that show any debt?

Is it a regular prepayment meter, or a smart meter? Has anyone been round to either read your meter or update the tariff? If you have only recently had the tariff adjusted, you are retrospectively paying for the difference in price since the meter was last updated.
Many prepay meters are updated via the key or card when you pay for a top up after a price change, but some require manual intervention.
If you've a non-smart prepayment meter, the rates won't change until the first time you top up following a price change, so any credit you've added before then will be charged at the old rates – barring a few exceptions, such as those with Scottish Power or E.on.

Hi, it's a normal repayment meter, and the new tarifs were updated to the key when we topped up I think at the start of November.

Hmmm...? E.On are one of the two companies, the other being Scottish Power, that don't let you top your credit up at the old prices to game the system. They will be back billing you for any difference in rate of units used since 01 October, plus standing charge differences, I suspect.
Effectively, your First top up after Oct 01 will update the tariff. The meter will then calculate what you have used at the new rate, but paid for at the old rate, and mark the difference up as a debt. The meter will then allocate a proportion of subsequent top ups to reducing that debt until you are up to date.
