may I suggest you monitor your meter to confirm which reading is for the night use and which for the day. When you can be absolutely sure which register is which then go can move forward. You will then know the current readings are absolutely correct. That doesn’t mean the previous readings were.
on the face of it the usage is round the wrong way. It’s not the first time something like this has happened. On another thread it became apparent that even the use of r1 and r2 isn’t consistent.
we have no idea how long the meter has been in place, nor how long you have been the account holder, nor how long E.On Next has been the supplier.The mistake may be of long standing, and will take a little detective work to resolve.
Some will wonder whether they would complain, but the honest amongst us would.

@meldrewreborn I will check over the next few nights the readings at midnight and when I get up to check there is no rogue thing that is using the power during the night, it could be the clock is wrong but have no way of checking.
