We were recently notified that our meter hadn't sent a reading for 298 days. Of course, I went straight to the meter to get a reading, but found I couldn't get one. No matter which buttons I press/hold, I'm stuck with these details on the display...
Would anyone know what this means and what I could try doing to get a reading?
@Woodman if nothing can shift the display then it a fair bet that you cannot ever get a reading and a new meter will be required.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

That is a cry for help from your meter telling you it's battery is almost flat. Replacement battery or meter required, I'm afraid. You will need to call customer services to organise this. You still have that display because the microprocessor system itself is backed up by a supercapacitor.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
If your IHD can pull consumption readings, then you can manually send those, but gut feeling is the meter itself has probably given up trying to measure. You'll still need a replacement meter.
I think you're absolutely right.
Have fired up our IHD to check readings. Electric is ok, however, nothing for gas. Was hoping the meter could somehow still be storing our past months usage... and avoid estimated billing. hey ho.
No, the metering itself operates from the main battery. The capacitor just holds the error on the screen for as long as it can. I suspect the meter started beeping a warning nine months ago...you just didn't hear it!
