Trust me, the meters don't but a lot of software written by cut and past code kiddies does all sorts of weird (and blatantly wrong!) stuff with algorithms in the interests of giving the end user something pretty to look at. I know...I've written such software myself, on occasion!
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
I will do some further investigations with boiler switched off, and gas switched off.
I agree that gas use should not be constant. I was concerned about that, which is why I bought the ivie Bud, and started using Bright in addition. All of them never go to zero.
I would expect your gas usage graph to look more like this, I just chopped the offset off roughly in Paint. I would expect multiple periods across the day registering zero usage.

THanks for the suggestions.
If the different systems all agree, but never go to zero, you can rule out dodgy algorhythms then. My money is on meter creep or a leak. In either case, your bills will be way too high. In the latter case, you may need a GasSafe engineer out, pronto, and don't light up!
is your consumption up compared to the previous meter? Obviously not an easy one to answer but comparing might yield some more evidence.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Motorised valve on the system sending live feed to boiler through micro switch ( across switch live and permanent live) ,even when valve motor feed not live and in off position ? Just I’ve come across this before.
Yep. If the creep (or leak) is around 1.5kWh every hour, that's around 2160kW hour per month difference in consumption and should be very noticeable comparing against previous meter consumptions. Or upwards of £220 a month difference on the bill

I have a similar setup of system boiler and Megaflo cylinder and can confirm in the Bright app the gas consumption is 0.0kWh through the night like the gaps in your paintshop graph.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
