Can EON explain why my variable tariff states my electricity is 32.2 pence per KW and my gas is 10.0 pence per KW yet my last bill states my electricity is charged at 47.70 pence per KW and my gas 13.9 pence per KW ? seems like EON can put up your tariff as it requires i await your reply .
The governments EPG is not part of your contract with E.On next but reduces the effective rate you pay. Don't forget to include VAT in your calculations.
On your bill the Government EPG contribution has to be seperately identified for E.On Next to get that back from the government.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
You are billed at the pre-EPG rates, and then the EPG is discounted from those rates. It has to be done that way on the bill for accounting purposes. If you look at a full bill you will see something like this.
You can see my 'energy used' is charged at 49.35p which is the pre-EPG rate, and then discounted by the 17p EPG, to give me a rate of 32.35p.
VAT is then calculated at 5% to give me my actual rate of 33.97p which is the correct rate I pay against.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Thanks. The £11.39 discount on my example, which varies according to how much energy is used, is then submitted along with details from everyone's bill to HMG for the supplier to claim back from the government, which is why it is a separate line item, and not taken off the original rate first.
As teachers used to drum into us at exam time back in the day...always show your workings!
I have a day rate that is 60.03p - 17p Cap and a night rate that is 30.55p - 17p cap
The night rate is 10:30 - 12:30 then goes back to day rate from 12:30 - 2:30 then night rate from 2:30 - 7:30 then day until 10:30 at night - So thinking I was clever putting my stuff on at midnight was only 30 minutes at night rate and then back to day rate again !!
Right, you have strange hours then. Different hours and higher day rates, then. Strange settings, but potentially confusing too. You also need to figure out if your meter corrects for GMT/BST too, or you could be an hour out either way.
Have a look at a full pdf bill. Look for the meter supply number. Looks like this
Can you give me the middle three digits from the top line, probably beginning with an 8, and confirm the first 2 digits are 02.
Then, the First 2 digits from the bottom line. From that we can decode all the information we need to give you a clearer picture.
