Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

@retrotecchie the warm home discount and passing that onto the customers

@Deviljane666
This isn't money from the government, or a DWP handout. It's a discount from the energy companies themselves, paid for out of everyone's standing charges.
This discount will be applied by 31/3/23 to those deemed to be eligible.
The DWP have already determined eligibility on the benefits side of the equation if you have received the letter from them.
The discount will be automatically applied ONLY if you receive the Guaranteed Credit Element of Pension Credit.
All other people, in the Broader Group, will only get the discount if the DWP confirm they are eligible on the benefits criteria AND the Valuation Office Agency confirm that the property they live in is a 'high heating cost home'. That information has not yet been collated and forwarded on to the energy suppliers, so until that has happened and both boxes have been ticked, the discount cannot be applied.
Not the fault of the energy companies, but the usual slow process that usually happens when multiple government agencies (DWP, VOA and OFGEM) are involved in any new scheme. And this is a new scheme. Unfortunately, they have carried the name over from previous arrangements which were completely different to this year.

@retrotecchie
I disagree.
We've had government letters saying we've qualified back in November. Other companies have made the payments. Some companies making payments before people got their letters.
I think the hold up is all to do with Eon Next.
Perhaps those of us waiting should withhold bill payments until we've got our WHD payments? -
@gbhxu I disagree too, I had a letter in November saying I qualified, and you are right other companies have paid the WHD out so not sure what the hold up is with them, nearly 3 months on and still no sign of it.

@gbhxu
OFGEM wil not be at all interested. The ombudsman might if the rules have been broken and you’ve gone through the complaints process of you supplier.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
@retrotecchie I am eligible 👍
