Are you talking about your IHD? If so, are the tariff details correct? It’s best to look at consumption in kWh to see what’s going on. I use the Hildebrand Bright App to show me exactly what’s being consumed and when. It’s free to download and will help you see what’s going on.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Is it a prepay meter and if so, did you 'inherit' it from a previous occupier?
Or, did you originally have a credit meter and had it swapped for a prepay?
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
What kind of heating do you have? And can you separate the two prices for gas and electric rather than a combined price? That may help us drill down to a bit more of an answer for you. Total energy cost won't tell us much.
Ok, hot water tank in an airing cupboard? If so, has someone accidentally switched on the immersion heater?
If you have a combi...then there is some other high-power load rinsing your electric.
I suggest unplugging any fridge freezer before you go to bed and then plugging it back in when you get up. If you leave the doors closed, you'll be fine overnight. If that turns out to be the energy hog, then your compressor is knackered and running all the time.
I don't have gas. My daily electric consumption for a two bedroom stone cottage is about £3.30 a day, with two of us in all day and electric cooking.
