Hi
How long, on average, should you have to wait, after agreeing to pay to have a SMETS1 meter upgraded, to a SMETS2 with economy 7 meter, for it to be installed.
My fixed tarriff ends 1st March and want to go onto E7 on 2nd March
thank
That would be a question for Customer Services, and how long the lead time is to get a meter engineer scheduled. You don't need to wait until then. You can have the meter changed any time prior and, until you change your tariff, it would just use one rate.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
I think, by reading another post, I'm in the same situation as @Taff996. I have solar and batteries now so want to switch to E7 so I can charge my batteries at night, but I have been told I can't have a SMETS2 and my SMETS1 won't work with the E7 meter.
I'm still waiting to hear about a date for my E7 meter to be installed. I'm paying £157 for it as well. Should I be getting a SMETS2 with this do you think?
I have applied to have my SMETS1 meter replaced with a SMETS2 economy 7 meter and I will be charged £157.86 for the engineer's visit.
Would it be ok to ask to have an isolation switch and my main fuse upgraded to 100amp at the same time. I'm planning on getting a plug-in EV
Not so. If suppliers still have existing stocks of SMETS1 meters, they can use them up, although not recommended. An isolator switch will either cost another £90 odd quid or you can do that yourself with your own electrician. To get your main fuse uprated to 100 A you will need to contact the DNO as that is their responsibility. However, they will need to see that you have 25mm sq. meter tails and not 16mm sq. The DNO would usually schedule such an upgrade for the same day the meter engineer is on site.
