Is it possible to revert back to my old PAYG meter??
Can I go back to my old meter?

I've not had my smart meter long, but I don't like it already.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Hi @gixerp, why are you thinking to remove it ? What are the features that you don't like ? Maybe I can help a little to make you understand some of them 😀

Hiya... well, on my PAYG meter, when I topped up I could instantly take a note of the rate 1 reading and the rate 2 reading. . . which I logged in an excel sheet and I could do all sorts of calculations. sounds a bit OTT bit it was extremely useful for me.
On the Smart meter, I cant see both rates. . . only the cost per kw currently being used. .
Also. . . I know its early days (Ive only had it 3 or 4 days), but my credit seems to be going quite a bit quicker too.
and... I cant tell if the emergency credit (which the meter instantly went on to when the meter was installed until my old credit was re-instated) was replaced as emergency credit... OR taken out of my original credit.
Finally, (yes almost there). . . How do I go about getting the £66 credit (which I had a letter to claim for on my old meter but had not collected)?... from what I have read, smart meters are automatically topped up in the first two weeks of the month?
Thats it (so far) 🙂
Hopefully I will be educated on the things I'm wrong about . . . or I dont know yet 🙂 -
@gixerp Great questions and ones that I think as a Community we could answer, but first we need some more details - do you know the make and model of the smart meter that has been fitted please?

@gixerp
Ok, are you confusing the actual smart meter itself, with your Diddy little In Home Display? Your meter itself should have the same functionality.
on an older meter, you would have been given a voucher and had to top up manually at the Post Office. With a smart meter, the meter is credited remotely so you don't need to faff about. I'm sure your IHD should allow you to see the actual meter readings. You may need to explore the menus to find out how to get it to display different information.

Not knowing anything about these meters yet, there is not much that stands out as make and model. . . these are the main possibilities

SKU1 cellular

I cant find the info I'm after in the small In Home Display. . . I have been through the menus.
Up until about 10 mins ago, I didn't realise you had to long press the buttons on the Main Unit in the cupboard to get to further menus, I was just going left & right 🙂 . . . so I havent had chance to fully investigate the main unit menus as yet.
I have Novembers voucher (which I cant use now), and by all accounts, smart meters get the top up in the first Two weeks of the month. . . which have now passed as I never had the meter then 🙂Last edited by gixerp; 18-11-22 at 22:28. Reason: wrong grammar. . . didn't make sense

3.Using the arrows, scroll to ‘Advancd’ (2 pushes of the > button)
4.Hold OK to enter the ‘Advanced’ sub-menu, you will see ‘TOUmtrx’ appear
5. Hold OK to enter the ‘TOUmatrx’ sub-menu, you will see ‘RATE1’ appear
6. Using the arrows, you should then be able to view both Rate 1 and Rate 2.
