My duet2 ihd seems to be working OK atm but I wondered if there is anything else I could use for better information. I have read about the chameleon app but they want meter and address information. I realise they need it to be able to link with my meters but I am wary of giving out personal and meter information to a company I've not heard of before. Are they a safe legitimate company?
Duet 2 and chameleon

Hi I have old gas and electric smart meters from Npower days but since moving to Eon they dont send meter readings every month so I have to send manual readings. Eon say it's because they are SMET1 and there's nothing they can do.

No worries, they're kosher. Lots of folks use their gubbins. How much more info you can get compared to what you already have if your meters are not communicating is debatable. You can see readings, and instantaneous consumption figures, but without any correct tariff information pushed to the meters and then on to the IHD, you still won't have any costs or pricing information available. Your meters might be migrated at some point, but don't hold your breath for too long. It's down to DCC rather than Eon.next. They can prod, but DCC have to do the heavy lifting, if they indeed can.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
