I have moved back accounts and my direct debit was cancelled. I set up a new direct debit to my new bank around 27th Oct and my normal due date is 1st Nov but no payment has come out. I presume it was too close to the 1st for a payment to be taken, my question is will you collect this later this month, or will my 1st dec payment be my next one? Do i need to make a manual payment in the meantime?
I'm afraid that this is a customer to customer forum. You might get lucky and attract some forum staff intervention but more likely you will have to persevere with customer service. I waited two weeks from the initial response to my WhatsApp query for a proper conversation so don't give up hope . You could try phoning as soon as they open at 9am if that's possible as you will stand a better chance of getting through in a reasonable time.

Hi, No just shows that I’m paying my amount on the 1st of each month. If i check the statement there’s nothing listed from the 1st Nov. I will try call customer support tomorrow morning at 9am to see if I can get through - I did try today but was on hold for 45 minutes and then the line dropped annoyingly.
You presume correctly. It takes about 4 or 5 working days to put a Direct Debit in place, not including the day it is taken.
You should see both payments go out in December. You can go to your energy account on line or in the app and make a manual payment if you wish.
