If your controls look like the ones in this Ideal Logic + Combi Manual then check you have turned the Pre-Heat dial to the 'off' position. That should stop the 'comfort' setting kicking in. That is unless your boiler has a different manual to the one in the link. As for the IHD, have you tried rebooting the IHD by turning it off then on after a short time.
One step to far now.

Perhaps you have your central heating water temperature set at the 'e' setting which is supposed to be the most economical setting for your boiler. But this will have nothing to do with the pre-heat function your boiler probably has that I made in the post before this one and that retrotecchie has mentioned as well.
My boiler idoes not have pre-heat enabled so the IHD always records 0.0 kWh of gas usage when I get up in the morning.
Good luck.Last edited by Mailman; 04-11-22 at 22:49.

Hi Beki.
Took this photo this morning and as you can see the IHD is still not cummunicating with the gas smart meter.
Working fine with the electric smart meter.
To me the IHD is faulty and needs replacing.
I know its only a display but it should let me know my usage without going outsid ein the cold and wet to read the main gas meter.
Thanks.
Karl.

" I was lied to by eon. who told me if i wanted the V15 tariff i had to have smart meters fitted, but after they where fitted i found out that this was acctualy a lie."
Just curious as to how you found this out . -
Because i watched a program and they said NO ONE has to have any smart meters fitted with any tariff what so ever, It is just a bullying tactic and 100% not enforceable by ANY energy company at all. -
@Karln
An energy company cannot force you to go smart, true. Energy companies can, and do, offer preferential deals which are contingent on having smart meters installed. Whether that is right or wrong is subject to debate, but it is standard industry practice amongst all suppliers.
As a consumer, you have the right to shop around. You have the right to not have smart meters. Shopping around is less of an option today because everyone's prices are much of a muchness. Right now, no-one is being penalised for not having a smart meter and I will lay money that very few are getting a better deal because they do have one.
Your IHD appears to be working fine, in itself. What is not working is the communication between the IHD and your gas meter, and that is more likely to be an issue with DCC communications or the actual meter unit itself. Have you tried the Citizens Advice smart meter checker to see if your meter is actually communicating?Last edited by retrotecchie; 05-11-22 at 12:31.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
@Beki_EONNext
See latest photos taken over a few days.
As you can see my IHD is not communicating with my smart meter.
Me myself i think it is faulty and needs replacing.
Thank you.

Have you established the situation with your pre-heat function on the boiler. A few posts including mine referenced it but no reply yet from yourself. Overnight usage was another element to this thread.
Can you confirm that you reset the IHD by turning it off then on again (give it 5 mins)?
Have you also tried the android Bright App to monitor your gas usage?Last edited by Mailman; 06-11-22 at 11:20.

It is communicating with your electricity meter, therefore the IHD is fine as is communication between the IHD and your comms hub. It is the communication from the gas meter, through the comms hub to the IHD that is not happening, so the fault seems to be with the actual gas meter itself.
Have you tried the Citizens Advice smart meter checker to see if the network can actually see your meter communicating and that it is indeed working in smart mode?

I'm convinced the problem is NOT a faulty IHD.
