I'm on a fix but i have very long covid!😂 Also if they really insist that I get one, I'll book it for 10 days after my fix runs out and then cancel the appointment when the fix ends. I would also demand that they guarantee that it/they will always be fully functional and live up to their propaganda, or else pay me £10 for each 10 day period after the first 10 days (to give them time to fix) when it /they don't work.
Why people put up with meters that don't function is beyond me. Voters, write to your MP with the realities of life with a non functioning smart meter!

Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

i was lied to to have smart meters fitted and now if i want them out it is going to cost me £150 to remove them.
my gas smart meter is not connecting to my in house display. they are ****.
For over 31% of users, you are spot on. For the rest of the satisfied smart meter userbase, they might disagree. Those numbers will possibly change as 3g gets turned off and more and more drop off line.
I can't have one, won't have one and will never fall for coercion, promises of energy savings or cheaper tariffs.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
As yet, there is no legal requirement to have a Smart Meter and it's important that people know this.
Legally they can't force you to have one. Citizen Advice can advise on this and give you more information. The only issue is you may find it hard to access all tariffs, which there really aren't that many tariffs available, anyway.
NOW i am getting charged for gas i have not even used between the hours of Midnight and 8am in a morning.
Twice this has happened this week so far.
1- was for around 60 pence and 2nd on this morning was for over a £1.
I'd suggest that you have a good look at your boiler settings. BTW what make is your Boiler? If your boiler provides your domestic hot water (very likely) you might find that your boiler has a 'comfort setting/mode' turned ON so that it keeps a small permanent reservoir of hot water. If this is the case then you will find that the boiler will fire up intermittently particularly during the night when the temperature drops. If you find this setting, and it is in the ON position, then turn it OFF but expect your hot water to take a longer time to reach the set temperature. You should expect to see your IHD reflect only your standing charges when you get up.

Q) So how do you know exactly how much the gas has cost you at 8am (see my previous reply to possible cause)? (Not trying to be mean BTW just trying to get you in a better place mentally 🥂
If you had the smart meter removed, all they would fit would be .....ANOTHER Smart meter - that's all they've got now. So forget that Idea.
As to your IHD not connecting to your smart meter - where is this mysterious overnight cost coming from then?
Actually, if you can persuade your supplier to agree to it and you pay for the costs of the swap, you can fit (or have fitted by a professional electrician) a non smart meter, as long as it has the correct certifications. They still make 'em and you can go into any electrical wholesaler and buy one. The problem is, the cost of getting an engineer out from the DNO to isolate your supply at the main fuse and then reseal it afterwards, plus the 'administration fees' of transferring old and new readings and updating the meter serial numbers usually far exceeds the saving in hassle of just leaving things be. But it is at least legally possible if you really feel that you need the hassle.
I'm sure the same is possible with a gas meter. But why swap a naff smart meter for a dumb meter when a non working smart meter is a dumb meter anyway?!
