hi Beki I agree broadly with the best answer however the problem I have is the DDs are being requested most times a smart meter reading is sent regardless of manual readings. I can only hope that in the future only one set of readings per month is used to produce a bill. Regarding the monthly set amount DD I much prefer paying for energy as used.

@Plantagenet So if you are on a receipt of bill, and a bill is produced...this will then request a DD payment.

I get that but not multiple payments per month surely? Why not one payment per month for the total amount owed in that time frame?

Ah my mistake I forgot this is Eon Next we are dealing with. Can't we just drop the Next and go back to just Eon. Not really working is it.

I buy stuff from a supplier. Every time I send an order, they ship it to me (generating a bill). Those bills go on to my account, which I pay on the 18th of the month following.

If I order one item during the period, it goes on the bill to be paid as usual. If I order multiple items on multiple days, I generate multiple bills but they still accrue on the account and pay the total the following month,

Not rocket science, is it?

However....the Kraken accounting platform that Eon.Next use, borrowed from Octopus, I I R C....well, say no more, eh?!

@Plantagenet We can look into this though, as if you go on the DD version of the Next Flex and not the receipt of bill tariff, then it'll be a once a month payment. And it'll be slightly discounted too!
