Getting fed up of eon saying same thing...oh we will resolve this, its the date of billing. Sorry but date of billing is not 3 dates a month.
smart meter billing
-
Why am i getting billed 3 times a month? smart meter. i received a bill, 19 days after the last bill, again 4 days after that, then again 5 days after that. Bills should be once every month. i have taken this further than eon in the past and was supose to be resolved. This is messing up my finances more than the government. Someone please shed a light on this.

Just to be clear, are you on a Variable Direct Debit with your next flex?
And if you are, what dates does your account show for the meter readings (both gas and electric) and do they all state 'smart meter' or 'manual read'.
I ask because the timing of my DD's, after statement production, coincide with meter read date (+ about 17 days). Submitting additional manual reads will probably generate additional statements/bills unless this coincides with the 'due date'. This 'due date' will depend on the date that you opened your account with Eon Next when they became your supplier. In my case this due date is the 1st of the month because Eon Next started supplying me on 1st October 2021. So unless your due date was 1st October (as was mine) I suspect that your account will show
smart meter reads on October 1st (because of the move to EPG)
smart meter reads on your 'due date' sometime between 2-31st October,
and possibly your own manual reads at the end of October.
Sometimes Eon Next staff pull a smart meter read from their end in response to a call/social media exchange (as happened with me last month)
Fingers crossed that this month for me will see a resumption to 1 set of smart meter reads automtically pulled this month (they were on 1st Novemeber - well done Eon Next 😁), bill generation by the end of this week and single DD taken 18th-20th November to zeroise the account at that point.
Ignore the parts that don't apply if you are on a diiferent payment scheme.👍 -

There was an ongoing issue of a similar nature in the thread linked below…

I think it was resolved by @Beki_EONNext but I don’t know what the resolution was.I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
@Mandi1972
if you’ve taken it further in the past and it still hasn’t been resolved, then I’d complain again. Their resolution was more of a sticking plaster than a proper solution. Claim the improper Direct Debits back via your bank under the direct debit guarantee to force matters more.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
Yup same as my account multiple direct debits taken on different days of the month, and they never match the stated amount to be taken. I can only assume as in a previous reply the “ system” is balancing my account and will at some point revert to one monthly payment date for energy used. Until then I’m just going to ride it out .

Hey @Mandi1972, welcome to the Community.
I'd love to explore this with you. Could you give us some more information about what tariff you are on and if your DD is set up as variable? -
@Beki_EONNext
Hi Beki I don’t want to hijack the thread but if it helps other users to get some information I have the same issue as the op i.e.multiple DD payments in the same month. This is on Next flex dual fuel with monthly variable direct debit. Thanks -
flex tariff should be paid on receipt of bill. So far for October 4 statements produced and 4 DD taken on10 th 17th , 28 th and 29th with an additional DD pending for payment on the 29 th of October which state value to be adjusted, why I do not know unless it’s to reflect £67 goverment help.All of these are for various amounts non of which relate to paper statements / bills received always a different value taken.I always submit meter readings manually at the end of each month but it would appear to me that daily smart meter readings received by Eon Next are producing multiple bills to my account. -

Rather than in one big mahoosive lump? I know which I would prefer, being on weekly benefits.Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
